Privacy Notice
The Ọmọlúàbí Initiative respects your privacy. This notice explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible.
What we collect
We only collect the details you choose to give us through our forms. Specifically:
- 48-Day Pilot sign-up: name, email, country/location, optional WhatsApp number, Yoruba fluency and area of interest.
- Reviewer sign-up: name, email, location, Yoruba fluency and any relevant background you add.
- Contact form: name, email, reason for contact and your message.
- Newsletter / Stay Connected: your email address.
We do not require sensitive personal information, and we ask you not to send it.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your details only for the purpose you contacted us about: to run the 48-Day Pilot, to organise review of the Òwe Ìwà Register, to respond to enquiries, to arrange partnership or volunteering, or — where you have asked — to send occasional updates. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Being contacted
We will contact you by email by default. We will only contact you by WhatsApp or SMS if you have given a number and agreed to that channel. Every update gives you a way to opt out, and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Reviewer, pilot and volunteer information
Information from reviewers, pilot participants and volunteers is used to coordinate that activity and is shared only with the small number of people organising it. Reviewer contributions are acknowledged through a clear, consent-based process; we will not publish your personal details without your agreement.
Keeping and removing your data
We keep your details only as long as needed for the purpose you gave them, and then remove them. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
Third-party services
Our forms are processed by Netlify Forms, and our fonts load from Google Fonts; these providers process limited technical data (such as your submission and basic request information) to deliver their service. We do not share your details with anyone else.
