Privacy Notice
The Ọmọlúàbí Initiative respects your privacy. This notice explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible.
What we collect
We only collect the details you choose to give us through our forms. Specifically:
- 48-Day Pilot sign-up: name, email, country/city, your WhatsApp-update preference, what interests you about the pilot, and — only if you opt in to WhatsApp updates — your WhatsApp phone number (including country code).
- Reviewer / validator sign-up: name, email, your Yoruba background and any review notes you choose to add.
- Volunteer / contributor sign-up: name, email, country/city, how you'd like to help and your availability.
- Feedback & partnership inquiry: name, email, your organisation (optional), what your message is about and the message itself.
We do not require sensitive personal information, and we ask you not to send it.
We only ask for a WhatsApp number if you actively choose to receive WhatsApp updates on the pilot sign-up. If you select “No” or “Maybe later”, no phone number is requested or collected.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your details only for the purpose you contacted us about: to run the 48-Day Pilot, to organise review of the Òwe Ìwà Register, to respond to enquiries, to arrange partnership or volunteering, or — where you have asked — to send occasional updates, including WhatsApp updates where you have specifically opted in. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Being contacted
We will contact you by email by default. If you choose to receive WhatsApp updates, we may collect your WhatsApp phone number (including country code), and we will use it only to contact you about the 48-Day Pilot and related Ọmọlúàbí Initiative updates, and only where you have given specific consent. Every update gives you a way to opt out, and you can ask us to stop contacting you by WhatsApp — or by any channel — at any time.
Reviewer, pilot and volunteer information
Information from reviewers, pilot participants and volunteers is used to coordinate that activity and is shared only with the small number of people organising it. Reviewer contributions are acknowledged through a clear, consent-based process; we will not publish your personal details without your agreement.
Keeping and removing your data
We keep your details only as long as needed for the purpose you gave them, and then remove them. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
Third-party services
Our forms are provided by Tally, and our fonts load from Google Fonts; these providers process limited data — your form submission (including a WhatsApp number where you provide one) and basic technical request information — to deliver their service. We do not share your details with anyone else.
