The Ọmọlúàbí Initiative Ìwà l’ẹwà — Character is Beauty

About Ọmọlúàbí

What it means to be an Ọmọlúàbí

Ọmọlúàbí is the Yoruba ideal of a person whose character, conduct, speech and social contribution show that they are well-raised, trustworthy, respectful, responsible and useful to others.

The Ọmọlúàbí Initiative exists to make this wisdom teachable and practicable for modern life — through the Ọ̀nà Ìwà learning engine, daily lessons, proverbs, reflection, storytelling and community engagement.

Vision

To see a world where character, dignity, truthfulness, responsibility and communal good are taught, practised and passed from one generation to the next.

Mission

The Ọmọlúàbí Initiative exists to revive, teach and transmit the Yoruba ideal of Ọmọlúàbí as a practical framework for character formation, ethical living, leadership, family life, community responsibility and human dignity.

Purpose

To make Ọmọlúàbí accessible to millions through culturally grounded learning, daily moral reflection, proverbs, storytelling, digital media, family resources, school materials, community engagement and public education.

Community & inclusion

Ọmọlúàbí is rooted in Yoruba wisdom, but its moral call is universal. We honour Yoruba language and heritage while making the learning accessible to Yoruba speakers, heritage learners, Nigerians, diaspora communities and non-Yoruba learners interested in character formation.
